FAQ

Common questions about the platform, programs, and getting started.
What is DISC?
Icon
Icon

DISC is a research-backed behavioral model that maps four dimensions of working style, revealing how you communicate, respond to conflict, and collaborate. FlyingPenguins provides its own validated assessment built on this model, and uses your style as the starting point and shared language for the whole experience. Practice and feedback are personal from day one. Already know your DISC style? Enter your results and start from there.

What is the CARE framework?
Icon
Icon

CARE is FlyingPenguins' research-based framework for how effective teams work together. It maps the four dimensions most linked to high-performing teams and cultures: Communication, Alignment, Relationships, and Emotions, and breaks them into 20 concrete, measurable skills you can practice and track over time.

What makes FlyingPenguins practice unique?

Two things work together — and the approach is patent-pending. First, practice is personalized to you: every simulation adapts to your DISC style and skills profile, and so does the feedback, so you spend the most time on the skills that are a stretch for how you work. Second, practice is contextualized to your world: we build the scenarios around your company, your role, and the real challenges your teams face, not generic role-plays. You practice the conversations that actually matter, as the person you actually are.

What's the difference between a FlyingPenguins program and the platform?
Icon
Icon

A program, such as the Team Performance Sprint or Manager Excellence, is a guided, time-specific engagment with the platform built for a particular team or cohort. The platform is what organizations can deploy across every team, manager, or practitioner so that the same DISC assessment, practice simulations, and scoring can run continously, not simply for a set time period.

Can I use FlyingPenguins alongside my own coaching or facilitation practice?
Icon
Icon

Yes. Coaches and facilitators who become certified by FlyingPenguins can use FlyingPenguins inside a single session or engagement as a guided layer in their practice, or incorporate the platform on a larger scale with every client relationship.

What are human skills?
Icon
Icon

Human skills are the personal and interpersonal abilities that shape how someone works with others and handles the parts of a job that go beyond technical know-how. Think communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, empathy, and time management. They're often called "soft skills," but that name undersells how much they matter: they're what let people collaborate well, navigate change, and lead effectively, regardless of their specific role or industry.

How does FlyingPenguins use AI to build human skill?
Icon
Icon

FlyingPenguins uses AI-powered role-play simualtions to give you more opportunities to practice building your communication skills. Every program includes simulations that are short, realistic conversations with characters who have their own DISC profiles, built around situations your team faces. The AI plays the counterpart in a tough conversation, so you can practice the pushback, the silence, and the disagreement as many times as you need before you're in the room with real stakes. After each simulation, you get scored against the CARE skills you practiced, so growth stays visible instead of assumed. AI doesn't tell you what to say or decide who's ready for the next conversation. It creates the repetition a real job never has time for, then hands the insights back to you.

Who can see my results?
Icon
Icon

Your results are visible to you and to your organization's authorized people, so your team and facilitators can support your growth. They are never sold, and never used for employment decisions.

How is my data used?

Your assessment and skills data is contractually limited to learning and development. It cannot be used in hiring, promotion, or any employment decision.

Can I access or delete my data?
