Manager Excellence

A 5-week program for the managers who carry your strategy, and the teams who deliver it.

Managers make it happen

Direction is set together, but it becomes real in the day-to-day: the decisions, the trade-offs, the conversations that keep a team moving. That's where managers live. Gallup attributes about 70% of the variance in team engagement to the manager alone. The most leveraged role in the organization deserves more than good intentions. Manager Excellence is built for it.

Our Solution

Managers work at the intersection: aligning people who don't report to them, coordinating across functions, keeping a team focused while priorities shift. Manager Excellence is an expert-facilitated, 5-week program where experienced managers sharpen the conversations their job runs on: honest feedback, delegation, conflict, and alignment across teams. Practiced with peers, applied with your own team.

The learning journey

10 hours over 5 weeks:
Three 90-minute expert facilitated sessions, with 45–60 minutes of preparation and follow-through activities.
Designed to learn in the flow of work.

You see how you collaborate and where differences with others create friction or misalignment.
Quadrant insights with Dominance, Influence, Conscientiousness, and Steadiness traits and related skills described.

Your team gains a shared language to understand friction, differences, and day-to-day collaboration.

An expert facilitator debriefs your results and introduces managing with CARE: Communication, Alignment, Relationships, and Emotions.

Managers understand their personal tendencies and the skills to develop.

You practice realistic workplace conversations with AI-powered role-play and get personalized debriefs based on collaboration styles and the CARE framework.
Simulations and Insights

Realistic simulations built around daily challenges: giving feedback, managing conflicts or team alignment, highlight priorities and opportunities.

Your facilitator debriefs the simulation experience and helps surface recurring manager challenges. Breakout activities discuss individual challenges and best practices.

Managers practice and discuss the impact of tension on performance.

At this stage managers invite their own team to the platform and analyze the dynamics based on behavioral insights. Results are discussed in 1:1 coaching session with the facilitator.

What to expect after 5 weeks?

User Analytics
Lower Dot
Confident leadership
Fewer decisions made from uncertainty
A manager without structured support defaults to guesswork under pressure, and teams feel it in every unclear call. Managers who complete the journey lead with clearer communication and less ambiguity.
User Analytics
Lower Dot
Stronger team trust
Conflict gets handled, not avoided
Unaddressed conflict doesn't disappear. It resurfaces as turnover, disengagement, or quiet resentment that shows up in exit interviews instead of performance reviews. Managers who've practiced these conversations before they're real address friction directly.
User Analytics
Lower Dot
Culture that scales
Leadership that doesn't depend on one person
A management layer that leads consistently is a positive business outcome, one that holds up as the organization grows past the point where founders can coach every manager personally.

"One of the most exciting aspects of working with FlyingPenguins has been the opportunity to collaborate on custom simulations that directly address the pain points our teams encounter."
